24/07/2008 - Inclusion of the Cochlear Implant and IPO Hospital auditory rehabilitation Team in the Brazilian Center for Cochlear Implants and Implanted Prosthesis

The Cochlear Implant and IPO Hospital auditory rehabilitation team, coordinated by the Dr. Rogério Hamerschmidt, was registered with the Brazilian Center for Cochlear Implants and Implanted Prosthesis, being the only representative from the state of Paraná.
The Brazilian Center for Cochlear Implants and Implanted Prosthesis has its Head Office in São Paulo and is coordinated by Dr. Ricardo Ferreira Bento, one of the pioneers in the achievement of Cochlear Implant Surgery in Brazil (he has already performed more than 350 surgeries of this type), and also coordinates the Cochlear Implant Group at the Hospital Clinics in São Paulo - USP.
The Center was created in January 2008 and is formed of important Otorhinolaryngology doctors, specialists in Otology, or as it were, in the diagnosis and treatment of deafness and other diseases of the ears, in order to provide the best possible assistance in all levels of auditory deficiency across the country.
